Ponce Inlet Real Estate

Moving to Florida is a dream for many people. The stunning ocean, the great fishing, and the terrific weather make it an enviable state to call home. Less enviable, however, are the tourists that stream into Florida during the summer months. While every state sees it's share, Florida residents seem to get the brunt of summer vacationing. For the most part, Florida loves its tourists. But not everyone who wants to make a home there agrees. If you'd like to move to a beachfront or beachside home in Florida, but don't want to find yourself in a tourist town, consider homes in Ponce Inlet.  It's the definition of sleepy little town, nestled right in the heart of Florida's coastline.

In the 2010, there were no more than 3,032 residents in Ponce Inlet. Ponce is a small town, and they have no intentions of changing. There are several land use regulations to control commercial creep into the residential area, and the residents are sure to enforce them. This is a town that prizes it's beaches, and quiet atmosphere. The town also has a great drive towards personal wellness. The town has many boardwalks that encourage citizens to walk or bike instead of driving, programs to plant vegetable gardens and fruit trees in residential yards, as well as a community work out program held in its local parks.

The main attraction on Ponce Inlet is the lighthouse. Ponce De Leon Inlet lighthouse was declared a national historic landmark in 1998.  It's the tallest lighthouse in Florida, and the second tallest in America. Today, it houses a museum dedicated to the families that served the lighthouse over the years, and the shipwrecks that had occurred there. If you're more interested in nature and wild life, you can check out the Timucuan Oaks Botanical gardens or, spend the weekend fishing. There are no less than three marinas in this sleepy little town; The Adventure Yacht Harbor, Inlet Harbor Marina, and the Sea Love Marina. Of course, the Marine Science center is always a great place to spend a Saturday, especially if you've got a budding marine biologist in your family.

When it comes to oceanfront or riverfront living, it’s hard to beat a home in Ponce Inlet. Small town life is something that can be tough to come by in Florida.  Ponce Inlet is a place to invest in beach front real estate, but still keep that close community feel. The town at large has worked hard to keep it that way. If you'd like to be a part of that, consider a home in Port Inlet.
