Daytona Beach is a city in Volusia County, Central Florida, and it is a place filled with wonderful natural beauty. Daytona Beach is famous for being the home of NASCAR but there’s a lot more to it than just fast cars. There is also a huge 23 mile stretch of white sandy beach that attracts over 8 million visitors each year.
Daytona Beach has a rich history as the city of Daytona was founded in 1870 by Mathias Day, who it’s named after. In 1926 the three separate towns of Daytona, Daytona Beach and Seabreeze joined together to form what we now call Daytona Beach and it’s regarded as the world’s most famous beach. The vibrant beaches attracted both car and motorbike enthusiasts and, in 1936, the first stock car race was held on the beach course. The Daytona International Speedway was created in 1959 to replace the beach course by William France. To this day Daytona remains one of the few places where a family car can be driven on a beach.
Now Daytona Beach also has a new attraction; plenty of real estate. There are homes available in Daytona Beach right now for people who would like to either live in Daytona Beach themselves, or even consider renting them out to one of the 8 million yearly visitors.
If you choose to live in your Daytona Beach property then you can look forward to that amazing ocean view, as well as plenty of other surprises. Daytona Beach has several centres for art including the Seaside Music Theater and the Peabody Auditorium. Daytona also offers museums and has a large number of parks taking advantage of all the beauty of the place.
The sports fan in you will be happy to know that there is a baseball stadium in Daytona as well as the speedway. Racing fans will get the most benefit out of living in Daytona. It really is the home of NASCAR and motor racing in general. There is a statue dedicated to Dale Earnhardt Sr. in front of the speedway, dedicated to the memory of the late, great, racing driver who won the 1998 Daytona 500 and tragically died racing in 2001.
The main attraction is of course the Daytona International Speedway. The speedway seats 168,000 people and has events happening all year long. Not all of them are racing based either, but the majority are. There is motor racing of all manners including modified pickup trucks and even boat shows/races on Lake Lloyd.
Daytona Beach also has the Daytona Lagoon Water Park; a family friendly water park and entertainment center for groups of any size. It includes miniature golf, lazer tag, go-karts, and more.
Everything about Daytona that makes it a wonderful place to visit also makes it a wonderful place to live. Beach front property with an ocean view is always in demand and a profitable venture. Not much can beat an ocean view so see what Daytona real estate you can get and see what you can do with it.
